Am I Eligible?
Our midwife-led, freestanding birth center specializes in providing care for healthy, low-risk pregnancies to ensure the safest outcomes for both parent and baby. Our model of care focuses on supporting the natural process of childbirth while minimizing unnecessary interventions.
There are some conditions that fall outside the scope of midwife and birth center care and would make someone ineligible for birth center care, including (but not limited to):
- A history of uterine surgery, such as a prior cesarean birth
- Current pregnancy with multiples (twins or more)
-
Chronic health conditions, including pre-existing diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disorders, hyperthyroidism, neurological or psychiatric disorders, seizure disorders, and others.
- Active substance or alcohol use during pregnancy
One of your first steps in establishing pregnancy care at NorthPointe Birth Center is submitting your health history. Our clinical team will review your health history to help determine your eligibility for birth center care.
For instructions on completing your health history, please call 815.525.4304 or fill out our New Client Inquiry Form. After submitting the form, our team will create a ClientCare account for you. You will then receive instructions for accessing your account and completing your health history for review.
