VIPs - Volunteers in Partnership with Beloit Health System
Volunteers play a key role in enhancing the patient and visitor experience
at Beloit Health System (BHS). If giving back to our community in a healthcare
setting interests you, we may have just the opportunity!
The caring people who volunteer with BHS reflect the community we serve
- women and men, teens, college students, working professionals and retirees.
BHS's volunteers complement our dedicated staff by enhancing the quality
of service provided.
Kind words and personalized assistance go a long way in making our guests
comfortable. So, if you are interested in being a vital part of BHS's
consistent standard of 'Excellence' then volunteering with us in the perfect
fit for you!
Our volunteer Services staff will work with you to select a volunteer placement
that meets your interests and availability. At the same time, we want
to give you a chance to learn new skills and gain a sense of personal
satisfaction and accomplishment when you volunteer. Discover how a couple
hours each week can make a real difference for our patients, their families
and for you! Whether you're satisfied or searching, volunteering makes
life more meaningful. Helping others for just a few hours a week can improve
your outlook, self-respect and spiritual well-being. And there is a social
benefit as well. BHS volunteers enjoy the privilege of working with some
of the nicest people in the community. Our employees and volunteers make
friendliness and compassion high priorities. Many new friendships and
supportive relationships come from serving side by side with others.
You Can Make a Difference
You don't need special skills to become a volunteer. Every volunteer offers
his or her unique and individual interests, talents and experience in
contributing to the volunteer program. We will make sure you feel comfortable
in your volunteer role. We require and provide all volunteers with training,
background checks, TB screenings and annual flu shots.
Be Part of Something Special
Become a part of our outstanding team of volunteers who collectively contribute
over 35,000 hours of service annually to our patients, visitors and staff.
The rewards are great!
Each prospective volunteer is interviewed and together we determine where
your interests and skills best match the needs of the health system. We
can answer questions you may have, discuss your interest and availability
and sign you up for the next Volunteer Training Session. Once you have
chosen your service area, you will begin your on-the-job training.
Hospice is a special way of caring for patients diagnosed with a terminal
illness and a prognosis of six months or less. The mission of Beloit Regional
Hospice is to make each moment of remaining life as full and comfortable
as possible.
Hospice Volunteers can provide support in the office or one on one with
patients. Some volunteers choose to do both. All Hospice volunteers complete
training prior to volunteering at Beloit Regional Hospice. Following the
training session you will meet with the Volunteer Coordinator to determine
what role with Beloit Regional Hospice you would feel most comfortable.
