Beloit Health System offers comprehensive gastrointestinal (GI) services,
including state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment procedures at Beloit
Clinic and on our NorthPointe Health and Wellness Campus. Gastroenterology
is the study of the normal function and diseases of the esophagus, stomach,
small intestine, colon and rectum, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts,
and liver. Procedures performed include removal of colon polyps and cancer,
and treatment of hepatitis, gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn), peptic
ulcer disease, colitis, gallbladder and biliary tract disease, nutritional
problems, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and pancreatitis.
Our board-certified GI doctors (gastroenterologists) treat all conditions
affecting the digestive system, which are the organs and structures that
make up the GI tract. Our physicians use minimally invasive procedures

How Can a Gastroenterologist Help Me?
Symptoms like chronic bloating, indigestion, belly pain, gas, and burping
may indicate a problem that could be treated by a GI doctor. Our highly
trained experts are here to help you. Many things can irritate your GI
condition, and we can help you navigate life with a chronic condition.
Signs something may be wrong include chronic stomachaches, diarrhea, or
gas. If your child is experiencing pain lasting more than a few days,
consider scheduling a doctor’s appointment so they can get the relief
they crave.
Enterostomal Services
Enterostomal Services are offered to people with ostomies, fistulas, pressure
ulcers, wounds and incontinence issues to help them with these very special
needs. Recognizing your concerns, Beloit Health System employs specialized
Enterostomal Therapy (ET) nurses and others devoted specifically to help
you overcome any initial anxiety or insecurity you may feel. Your ET nurse
is available to provide individualized care and instruction at the bedside
before surgery and after, in the outpatient clinics, and by phone even
when you are at home. We use the team approach making appropriate consults
when necessary in order to provide the best care possible for our patients.
There is also a support group for Ostomy patients. If you would like more
