BHS COVID-19 BOOSTER UPDATE

BELOIT, WI. (April 21, 2022)— BHS is offering COVID-19 booster vaccines to all eligible people.

New Vaccination Clinic Location: Beloit Clinic, 1905 E. Huebbe Pkwy, Beloit, WI 53511

Beloit Health System now offers the booster for individuals who are immunocompromised and the recently FDA approved Second Booster for those over 50. These boosters, along with other COVID vaccinations, are offered at the Beloit Clinic. Appointments are required for all COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters. To schedule an appointment, please call 608.364.5663 Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.

COVID Vaccine boosters and initial series are being administered at no cost to the patient. Please bring your vaccination card with you. A parent or guardian must accompany anyone under the age of 18 to sign the consent waiver form on-site for any individual under the age of 18 to receive their booster. Patients 5-11 years old are not recommended for a booster at this time.

Moderna Boosters:

  • Who should get one booster: Adults 18 years and older.
  • Who can get a second booster: Adults 50 years and older.
  • When to get your booster: At least 5 months after completing your primary COVID-19 vaccination series. If eligible for a second booster, at least 4 months after your first booster.
  • Which booster should you get: For the first booster, a mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (Moderna or Pfizer) is preferred in most situations. The second booster must be an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine.

Pfizer Boosters:

  • Who should get one booster: Everyone 12 years and older.
  • Who can get a second booster: Adults 50 years and older.
  • When to get your booster: At least 5 months after completing your primary COVID-19 vaccination series. If eligible for a second booster, at least 4 months after your first booster.
  • Which booster should you get: For the first booster, a mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (Moderna or Pfizer) is preferred in most situations. The second booster must be an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. Teens 12-17 may only get a Pfizer booster.

Immunocompromised:

  • Boosters are now approved and available for immunocompromised patients
  • Patients 12+ (Pfizer only) a 1shot booster is recommended after initial 3 shot vaccine series. The booster should be given at least 3 months after 3rd dose
  • Patients 18+ (Moderna only) a1-shot booster is recommended after the initial 3 shot vaccine series.
  • The booster should be given at least 3 months after the initial 3 shot vaccine series
