This Per Diem Youth Apprenticeship -Phlebotomist is a Per Diem at Beloit Health System located in Beloit, WI. The Youth Apprentice will be involved in day-to-day tasks to support healthcare professionals, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to the overall patient care experience.
This Youth Apprenticeship - Phlebotomist will apply infection prevention controls, standard precautions and wear appropriate personal protective equipment, perform capillary collection, collect non-blood specimens, perform venipuncture, process specimens, comply with legal regulations, assist with performing Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waived tests, maintain safe environment, maintain specimen integrity.
Qualifications

Must be a current High School Student, 16 years of age or older

Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare

Willingness to learn and adapt in a healthcare environment

Basic understanding of medical terminology helpful
