This position will:
Be responsible for obtaining predetermination, preauthorization and/or
referrals from patient health plans for services rendered by Beloit Health System.
Services include procedures, admissions, diagnostic/screening testing,
treatments and medication.
Individual continuously utilizes online industry portals as well as various
patient Electronic Health Record applications to carry out these functions
under minimal supervision.
Required:
High school diploma is required. Degree in health-related field is preferred,
but not required.
Certification as Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant with experience
in administrative duties that include patient care authorizations and/or
referrals is required.
Certification as Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) or Specialist (CRCS)
within one year or at time of placement in position. Minimum of 36 CEU
credits per year are required for this position
At least two years’ experience in hospital and/or medical practice
setting is required.
Familiarity with medical billing/collections and healthcare insurance.
