Financial Counselor

Beloit Health System is looking for another Financial Counselor to join our Revenue Cycle Team!

Job Duties:

• Financial Counselors are responsible for performing various financial clearance functions, including with not limited to preparing estimates, follow up on outstanding accounts through mail and inbound/outbound telephone work while maintaining strong relations with patients and guarantors.
• This position works closely with outpatient and inpatient scheduling areas to ensure all patients are financially cleared and screened for financial risk before receiving services.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required as well as an Associate’s Degree in Accounting with two years medical office/facility billing and computer experience; or a combination of the two that can provide equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Minimum 5 years hospital and professional with third party and self-pay billing experience; and Minimum of 5 years customer service experience in a hospital or professional office setting; and minimum of 2 years hospital and/or professional registration experience. (Concurrent experience is acceptable)
• Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CBCS) or equivalent certificate is required within one year or at the placement of position.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of basic patient accounting processes and healthcare terminology strongly preferred.
